Grape EOTD

"Ugh, not another purple look!" is what you may be thinking.
However, there can never be enough purple! Last night as I lay in bed I was thinking how I've been using my Urban Decay shadows frequently but hardly give any of my pigments any love. So, I decided to use pigments for my eye look. It's not that I own tons of pigments, I just hardly ever use them. I usually use a pigment once or twice after I buy it and then store it away, to be forgotten... which is a bad habit. ^^;
Without further ado...
Product list
-UDPP
-MAC Push the Edge pigment (dry)
Above crease
-MAC Bloodline pigment (dry)
Used to darken outer corner
-MAC Mauvement (wet)
Lid
-Bissu pigment in 9
Inner corner (wet) and used to blend Push the Edge (dry)
-Barry M Dazzle Dust in 89
Tear ducts
-Dark purple from Revlon CustomEyes in Party Pops
Lower lashline
-UD Psychedelic Sister
Lower lashline, pressed the color against my lashes
-NYX eyeshadow in 02 White
Brow highlight
-Clinique lash doubling mascara
-Ardell Lacies
I used MAC's mixing medium to wet Mauvement. It's such a pretty color, I don't know why I don't use it more often. Ditto Push the Edge. And Bloodline. I guess I find it more of a hassle to use pigments. Maybe because they are loose powder? I remember one time I knocked down my Cocomotion and was so sad to have lost a bit of it. :( I do have to say that pigments are a great multipurpose product. You can use them on your eyes, lips (those that are lip safe), blush, in nail polish... you name it.
On my cheeks I'm wearing Vintage Grape ombre and on my lips a combination of Revlon's Berry Haute with a dab of MAC's Smoked Purple. I actually like how it looks with purple lips, though some may deem it too matchy-matchy. Different strokes for different folks, I say. ;)
I wasn't really sure what color to use on my lower lashline so I decided to give that Revlon palette another whirl. It's such a pretty color, a shame it's so powdery. :\ All of the shadows are like that, really. I didn't want to use it wet, though I'm sure the color would have been much more vibrant then.
Anywho... full-faced pic!
Why yes, I'm wearing a lavender sweater... don't judge me! :P
Picture with less matchy-matchy lips.
Wearing Maybelline's Color Sensational in Totally Toffee.
Maybe a pinky lip would have looked nice too. :)
That's it for now, I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Wendy.

Milani Mandarina

Hello everyone! I hope everybody's having a good Tuesday.
Lately I'd been having a hankering for a bright, orange lipstick. On Saturday night I went to eat with my parents and decided to take a walk to digest food. Long story short, we ended up at the MAC counter and so I tried on Morange. I've been having my eye on it, but I couldn't justify spending money, knowing it's permanent and that there were several drugstore dupes out there. So today I decided to shake up my boring routine and went to CVS, hoping to catch a sale or something. I was hoping to find Milani's Mandarina, which is somehow never available. I was lucky enough to find it today. Even luckier? It cost me $1.75! Talk about a bargain.
Anyway, I have other oranges but I didn't think they would be as bright as Mandarina... so I did a few comparison swatches.

As you can see, Kiss Me Coral and Mandarina are the closest colors. Except that even then Kiss Me Coral looks a tad bit redder. Siren's a bit lighter than Mandarina and Scarlet Ibis and 909D aren't even comparable. Maybe if you mixed Kiss Me Coral and Siren? But even then, it would just be too much trouble! Just now I remembered I have another orange lippie, Evangeline from Cargo's Plant Love lipsticks... I totally forgot to swatch it. But it's definitely sheerer than any of the lippies above.
Anywho, here are some lip swatches of Mandarina.

I'm in love with this color! A downside of it is that it makes my teeth look yellower. >_<
The color is bright and glossy. I haven't tested the wear but if it's anything like Rose Hip, it'll last me around 3 hours. A possible downside of the lipstick is the scent; it's rather flowery. It's not an issue for me, I actually really like it. At the price I bought it, it's definitely one of my best purchases.
That's all for today! I hope everyone has a great evening.
'Til next time.

Wendy.

Purple up the wazoo EOTD

Hiya everyone! I wore this look yesterday. I was just in a purple mood... maybe haha. I've been realizing that this is fast becoming a favorite color of mine. My comforter/pillows are purple, I have pretty purple flowers (of unknown name) in my room, I'm thinking of painting my walls lilac... it's like I've got bitten by the purple bug! I had been wanting to do a purple look for a while, but not wholly purple... maybe pair it with neutrals... well, see for yourself! :)
Product list
-UDPP
-UD Mauie Wowie
Lid
-UD Gravity
Crease
-UD Omen
Above crease, lower lashline
-UD Skimp

Lower lashline
-UD Psychedelic Sister
Lower lashline

Tiniest bit to outer v
-UD 24/7 liquid liner in Perversion
-Maybelline the Colossal Volum' Express mascara
When I looked at myself after finishing this look I thought it looked like someone punched me... but then it started to grow on me. ;) I think it might've looked a bit better had I put false lashes on; I find that extreme looks like this (and by extreme I mean I take color way above my crease) look better with 'em. Next time!
On my cheeks I dusted some of MAC's Sakura mineralize blush (which is of a purple hue), highlighted my cheekbones with Lightscapade and used Revlon's Velvet Rose super lustrous lipstick. I know if I used purple lipstick it would have been WAY over the top, haha.
Anywho, I hope everyone has a great day! 'Til next time.

Wendy.

Force of Love FOTD

Happy Thursday gals and guys!
Today I woke up, showered and hauled myself to my MAC counter since Chenman is released! I didn't want to miss out on the awesomeness that is Force of Love lipstick. Even if I didn't love the color description, the name itself if pure love; I'm a total sucker for names. Anywho! Just wanted to show what I wore on my face to go with my new lippie. ;)

On my cheeks I'm wearing a combo of Instant Chic and Pink Cult blushes by MAC. On my lips, of course, Force of Love. I'd been a bit weary about buying it since I'd read in blogs that it was similar to Iris Apfel's Party Parrot... so I did a little comparison swatch of my own.
No flash, natural sunlight
They're close... though Force of Love is lighter and brighter. I like both, the colors are right up my alley. :D The formula does not feel like a matte at ALL. It's creamy and just lovely. Totally recommend. So if you're skeptical about buying it... just do yourself a favor and get Force of Love! Or else you'll regret it how I did with Shop Cook's Quick Sizzle... ;_;
On another note, I'd never worn Baked eyeshadow and I'm really loving how it looks! It's like... gold-y but coppery? I don't know... but I'm in love with it.
Now... a silly picture to end this post with! The first full face picture I have has no flash, to show what FoL looks with natural light and now here's one with flash.
Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Wendy.
