Hello hello! Today I am going to review this very colorful eyeshadow (and liner!) palette from Revlon. I'd gone grocery shopping with my parents earlier and after I got everything I wanted in our cart, headed to the cosmetics section of HEB. To my delight, there were coupons taking $2 off any Revlon item and I pondered whether to take Revlon's Stormy Pink matte lippie or the eyeshadow... quint? I finally decided on the latter as matte lipsticks would dry out my somewhat dry lips out even more. Without further ado, my thoughts.
I was instantly captivated by the colors in the palette; the store lighting caught the sparkles and I was mesmerized. Sadly, the colors are not so mesmerizing swatched. They are dry-ish and powdery; with one swipe of my finger, the swatch was gone! A shame, especially with such vibrant-looking colors. So I decided to swatch them wet and it was a BIG improvement. I especially loved the darkest purple (I'm on a purple-loving streak right now). I think the quality of the shadows (and liner!) would be improved if one uses a primer or base first.
I attempted to do the look on the back of the packaging and blech! It was dry and you could barely see the colors... but to be fair, I didn't use them wet or over a primer or anything. With that said, I don't think I'm too disappointed in the quality of this eyeshadow and liner palette. It is afterall a drugstore brand and not too bad for the price (originally $7.48 but with coupon $5.48).
I would like to try out the look that Jessican Biel has soon, though. Ch-check it out!
Pretty, right? Looks like she has the dark purple (doy) mainly and the emerald-y shade on her outer creases with the lightest purple all over her eye?
Looks like I will find out soon.
Probably won't look ANYTHING like her as she is so gorgeous. Just look at those eyes!
But anyway.
Edited to add... swatches!
Sorry for the crap lighting.
Dry
Wet
There was another CustomEyes palette that caught my attention, a brown-y shades one but after seeing the quality of Party Pops, I will definitely not be buying another CustomEyes shadow and liner palette. Sorry, Revlon. :\
However, I do love your lipsticks and will continue to buy them... yay! :D
That is all for now.
Until next time...
xo,
Wendy.
